Ashbe are extremely proud to have completed the renovation of the Jersey Opera House

14

This £12M renovation was completed on time, and under budget, which is a huge testament to all involved. No other contractor currently operating in Jersey has undertaken a project of this scale, so there was no rulebook, and we really had to approach every day with fresh eyes. The teamwork, craftsmanship and dedication shown by the entire team has been outstanding and we are incredibly proud.

The building was in a significant state of disrepair, and required extensive renovation and refurbishment. Ashbe brought the building up to modern day standards, including addressing the fire strategy and the accessibility for both audiences and performers. A major part of the work was the decarbonisation of the building, ensuring that it remains sustainable for future generations. This involved replacing the entire M&E, working in conjunction with Brady and Gallagher, to remove all gas from the building and convert to electric. This will mean the building is far more operationally efficient in the future.

Throughout the project we also delivered an extensive programme of social values activities, to involve the local community as much as possible, and we hope that they will cherish to be finished product for many years to come.
