Ben left school at 16 to do a plumbing and heating apprenticeship, which took him two years. At that point, Ben knew he wanted to take his career in construction further, and one week after completing the apprenticeship he started as a trainee quantity surveyor with a local building firm. Four years later he obtained his degree and stayed at the same company for eight and a half years, eventually leaving to set up Ashbe Construction in 2016.

Les has worked in the construction industry for 30 years, and is a joiner by trade. Les overseas all aspects of practical completion of projects, and has been with Ashbe Construction since 2017.

Chris has been in the construction industry for over 30 years, starting his journey in construction at the age of 16, undertaking a 4 year carpentry apprenticeship on day release whilst in full time employment. This helped to develop his skills and started his love for the industry. Chris then moved into Construction Management, starting as a trainee site manager working his way through from Site Manager to Project Manager, then Contracts Manager to his current position as Director. Along the way Chris has obtained his Chartered Membership in Construction Management.

Chris works closely with all site aspects of the construction phase both with pre-planning to completion working with both clients and design teams.

John is a graduate of Cardiff University and has 10 Years industry experience, both locally and in the UK. He is studying towards RICS Accreditation.

Ethan left school at 17 to work as a trainee Quantity Surveyor with a local firm. He undertook a HNC in construction course for 4 years. After this period he took time to explore the world for 3 years. On his return he went straight back into the construction industry and hasn’t looked back since. He joined Ashbe Construction in 2017 where he has seen the company go from strength to strength.

Simon has been working in construction for 27 years. He started as a land surveyor in Wales at the age of 20 before becoming a site setting out engineer with Sir Robert McAlpine. When working in Jersey with Sir Robert McAlpine/Camerons he was approached by a Jersey local contractor to relocate to Jersey on a permanent basis where he worked his way from site engineer to project manager within the next 10 years. After this Simon decided to move to a smaller construction company to focus on high end builds for one off customers. After a further 11 years, Simon was offered a new challenge at Ashbe construction where he is employed as a Construction Manager looking after several of our projects.

Melvin moved to Ashbe Construction in 2023 after spending 43 years managing JFTU.

Ashley has extensive experience across multiple industries, including finance, hospitality and construction, both in consulting roles and in house. She graduated from Exeter University, then went on to obtain a Masters in People Management. Her strengths lie in operations management across multiple departments and streamlining business objectives, as well as overseeing the people element of a business. She enjoys translating strategic vision into actionable plans, providing support to roll these out in the most efficient way. Ashley also has particular interest and experience in talent development.

Louise spent over 20 years in the financial services industry, in a variety of Investor Relations and client facing roles. Her strengths lie in communications and corporate governance. Most recently she was responsible for overseeing the local sustainability strategy for a large fund services business. Louise moved to the construction industry in 2023 and is responsible for delivery of our sustainability and CSR strategy, as well as communications and public relations. She holds the IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management, CIOB Sustainable Construction and the CISL Sustainable Marketing, Media and Creative.
